Hey everyone, its been awhile since I have been here and I getting back into working with the MPC. I just got a Motif XS 8 and I am trying to trigger the play button on the MPC from the Motif. I have setup the midi connections as follows. I have from the MPC Out A going into the Midi In of the motif. From the Motif I have the out going into the MPC In 1. In my MIDI screen on the MPC I have the pad going to Out A and the two In's going into the sequencer. In my SYNC window in the IN part I have receive MMC. In the out section I have send MTC and send MMC. Now if I go into the MIDI event screen I can see the events coming in and going out depending on if I hit the keys or pads. Now if I have MMC setup shouldn't I be able to start the recording from the Motif if I hit rec/play, or even vice versa from the MPC? Another question I have is when I hit rec/play on the MPC I can record a beat, but I can't hear the metronome. I'm figuring that the metronome is only outputed as audio and not midi, is there a way to do this if the audio is being outputed from the Motif? It would be nice to be able to midi out the metronome and have it play from the motif. Thanks for any responses.

I have the audio outs from the motif going into my speakers. Should I have them going out from the motif instead? I want to be able to hear the metronome from the MPC since I am using the sequencer from the MPC instead of the Motif.

I figured it out. I needed to output the audio from the mpc to the a/d input and turn up the gain knob. Also, how do I route the midi signals that come out the mpc that go into the motif and back into the mpc? I can see the midi as an event that comes in and out, but on the main screen the in meter doesn't go up if I trigger a pad on the mpc. Any ideas?
