How does audition affect your organization on your MPC4k?

Me myself am still comming up with some sort of good way to keep my stuff organized, I think I am going to keep my custom drums and stuff I know I like inside of one folder

Instruments as far as Bass, Strings, Pianos, etc etc in their own folder (Sample cds not chops)

I think I'll break my chops down into about 3 folders, loops, drums, and stabs

Another folder for all my projects which will be saved by date and name

Another folder for when I get that spur of the moment idea and want to sample my own voice


Im putting alot of thought into this any comments suggestions or just talking about your organization would be helpful

IM NOT THAT ORGANIZE BUT I LIKE IT MORE THAN I THOUGHT I WOULD

I organize it all I have folders for instrument types with Sub folders for each kit or instrument with its own name, I have created a temp folder for raw samples i need to work on and edit into songs or kits neatly placed in sub folders. I also loaded entire libraries of sounds into my MPC from E-mu, Akai, East West, Acid and internet stuff I have downloaded over the years all in folders.....I do not need anything but my MPC and a Keyboard controller, I have created so many programs, Multis and key mapped instruments it is unreal...Over 20Gb now on my disc and it is all back up on my Mac..I love Akai... I can pop this unit in a suitcase travel the World as a one man Swiss Army Production ensemble..LOL

Guess I just have to start coppin some sample disc and breaking them down and putting them in my mpc

I know u prob got a secret stash, but any suggestions as far as what to look for in sample disc would help, I mainly need instruments, so I can ditch my triton and motif and fantomx sounds, and just cop me a midi controller and just use my mpc for everything

I've been sorta disappointed in some of the stuff, I've gotten but I guess I havent been looking in the appropiate places

I go right to limewire.com and download alot of shit sounds, movie clips, samples etc.. i bought a few discs but never again too much money and a bunch of trash.

they got whole sample disc and programs on that prog? if so I think I'll pay the 20 for the pro edition

hey slim, yeah, organizing folders...and being organized period with samples is key. Which is why I'm wanting to get into the recycle frame of mind and move away from sampling and editing on the mpc...the MPC is killin' for triggering the samples, stacking and filtering etc..but I need to be able to work faster then what the MPC is clocking at right now -


My folders on the MPC now are slowly growing into hybridized units ..ie: Sad Strings, Happy Strings, Bright Horn Hits, Horn swells,

not to mention the "Key" folders .. key of C, C#,D...etc and in those are sustained notes from a variety of sources -

I've been diggin' the Avalanches lately...and these MF's are way on top of there game...I think I read that one album contained nearly 3000 samples...and the've got them all organized on Akai samplers..
