Making a mix on the MPC 4000

Do you guys in general mix your stuff on the MPC or do you export the stuff into for example Logic/Cubase and do the mixing there? I´m new to these kinda things and need some input about how do you do it?

Also I wonder about how to use effects while recording the "main out".. .Is that possible? I can´t get it to work..

To get the best signal to noise ratio possible it is best to record all of you track into a Daw at the highest volume possible with out clipping the track, then do your mixiing levels

Ok, what about mastring then? Do you use the built-in compressor, reverb etc or do you do that kinda stuff in a DAW instead?

The built in effects in the 4k are so so.
They will work if thats all you have, but don't except it to come out sounding great like a record. I would use the plugins in your DAW instead.

Mastering should be done by a pro who knows what they are doing and has all the necessary tool's, or alternatively or could learn to do it yourself but that may take a while.

Ok, but do you suggest me to record one track at a time or should I just record one hole song (all tracks) in one .waw file and play around with that one within my Daw? I gotta try to learn all this stuff myself.. any tip about tutorials and/or great reading on the internet?

I suggest you check out the getting started threads and these posts as most users mix inside a DAW. It gives tips on tracking and mixing.
