Save Your work Constantly and record it on paper

Since I couldn't get a new band for my sl-230 today I improvised w/a rubberband (I know it's bad) until the new one arrives in the mail. So Cut on my turntable, auditioned some Sam Cooke and the creative processs began...found a beautiful sample, finely regioned and chopped it, followed by organizing the melody and filter editing to my likeness...and lastly as I joined a set of samples in the sample mode...my mpc froze up.Way to dampen the day, luckily I had the trim and filter values written down so i could reproduce it!

I've never joined big samples (10 second samples), and rarely join period..is this some sort of bug?
Has anyone else had this problem?

I hate the word noobie,..so to all the new users...save your work Constantly and keep a tangable log of your work,
it helps in situations like this, as well as a making a adjustments to your work at a clientes request.

My MPC only freezes when I try to load very big samples or I try to audition them, other than that it works well. I think it may be caused by bad memory as many issues with MPC 4K so I'll exchange it later or sooner. Maybe you should check your memory 2.
Personally I don't have to write it down on a paper, but I used to do it sometimes. Now I don't have to. Making notes while working on beats can be useful though.

I save often. I have a timer widget on my computer ,and set it ring every fifteen minutes.

I also keep a small moleskine notebook for keeping my beat notes
