Questions on tap tempo and b.p.m. matching

I know the tap tempo is supposed to line up the bpm in the song you are trying to figure it out for but when I use tap tempo it gives me crazy bpm's... it could go from 80 and jump to 200 and stuff like that.. how exactly do I use tap tempo to precisely determine the bpm? I use mixmeister but i'd like to learn how to adequately use tap tempo..

Now for b.p.m. matching - where it says Beat: (value), is this referring to how many beats are in the bar? And when I try using b.p.m match it gives me some bonkers bpm value - one thats not the same as the actual b.p.m. - for instance I have a song that is 102.6 bpms but when I goto bpm match it gives me Current tempo = 0.6 ... I've tried all the sections but still have the same 'Current tempo' value.. How do I do this?

When I use tap tempo I do it in the way Kick Snare Kick Snare and my tempo is set nearly the same as sample, little to adjust and I'm ready to go.

About B.P.M. section I must say it is pretty accurate. All you gotta do is to know how many beats are in your sample. Most of music is 4/4 so it's nearly always like this or it can depend on the way you chop samples. It is not reffered how many beats are in the bar, but how many beats you got in whole sample. Put correct number of beats in BPM match and ... Tadaa!!!

Go into your misc page and check if your tap tempo is set to 4 taps or not. It is could be set to 2 taps and your tapping out to 4 is throwing it off. For the setting press the buttons and break out the manual.

Ah very vital that you told me that, my setting was set to 2 instead of 4.
