pads not responding

i was playing a sound from pad A-1 and all of a sudden it started to fade out as i was holding the pad,now the pad wont play any sounds whether its a sound assigned to pads or from midi equipment. then i noticed the whole row of pads arent playing pads 13,9,5,and 1. All the other pads work fine just that 1st row arent playing,every once and awhile ill get them to play but not very reliable ?

Remove the top panel

Find the ribbon connection point to the board.

Release the lock on the connector.

Gently remove the ribbon connection.
You're gonna have to bend/curve it to get it out but be gentle.

Use Deoxit D something I think... (contact cleaner)... spray the contacts on the ribbon.
Wipe them down with the ribbon laying on top of the connector to support your force
spray them again.... and spray in the connector again....
wiggle the ribbon around in the connection a bit.

Remove the ribbon from the connector again.

Wipe off the ribbon. Spray it with Deoxit G5 (protectant/conditioner) leave that on dont wipe it off

Let the connector sit for about another 5 or 10 minutes cause u really cant wipe it, just let it evaporate
Then spray G5 into the connector.

Now put it back together.

You just cleaned it and protected it.....

I've seen this and fixed this countless times

The contacts get corroded and make poor connection.
I've seen all 16 go out completely, done this, and all is well... still, after 1 1/2 years

Anyway, give it a shot.

Dont worry about overspray. Wipe up what you can, but don't worry about a 'mess', it won't hurt anything
