autopunch question

When you autopunch you have to delete what was in the place your autopunching otherwise it keeps what was there and adds the new bit aswell. It just creates an extra step as you need to delete what was there first then do autopunch. Is there an option to change this?

just set autopunch on and set the points where you want to punch in and then push rec (not over dub ) and it will record over everything within the autopunch points.
