ADAT Newbie help

Hi, I just installed the adat card into my mpc4000 but have never used ADAT beofre so dont know how to get the signal into my DAW (cubase)

ADAT Card is now seen as an installed product in my mpc, i see the adat ins in record mode

my set up is as follows:

MPC4000 (slave) adat out -> Cubase (Master) adat in

Sync works fine. I use Midi timecode

I use a RME HDSP9632 sound card and tosclink cable

on the mpc config page i choose

- Digital Out Sync: Internal
- Type : Professional
- ADAT Out 1/2 : L/R

in my mpc mixer i choose channels 1-8 but no adat signal received either in DAW or Soundcard Mixer software

does your RME have templates? like an ADAT template that has everything mapped out for you?

i'm using an e-mu 1820m, and sonar. the e-mu has a bunch of set up templates, and one specifically set up for ADAT. -what I/O i can use in sonar depends what template i'm using.

i wish i could help you more... but i'm not familiar w/the RME.

unfortunately no templates ...i have logged a ticket with RME too....hopefully i can get it solved somehow or another

no RME soundcard users in this forum i guess?

Did you assign your Multi's/Programs/Samples to the proper ADAT channels?

if i am in program mode and select either 1-8 or 12,34,56,78 i get no audio coming into soundcard
if i make my program output to be multi and then in multi choose either 1-8 or 1/2,3/4,5/6,7/8 no output (same if i assign pad sound in mixer to 1-8...no signal)
i am running at 44.1hz to get the 8 adat channels

i get red light appearing out of the cable

is it possible for me to check the adat card works internally in my mpc by putting the mpc adat out going to the mpc adat in and then using record? if so how....if i try this...i doing get any incoming signal when choosing the adat channels to record from...or do i need to have it synced to a daw?

problem solved

for anyone using the rme soundcards.....your adat will not work if you have the AEB board also installed....since this uses the adat internally....
