Bass Popping

Wondering if any one has any ideas why I'm getting Popping noises in my Bass Sequences?? I chop a sample filter it then place it in a sequence and i'm getting a popping noise. I tried chopping the "tail end" off the sample's but it's still there. I'm getting it with all my low pass filters. I'm downloading off of i tunes for the sample, could that be the problem??

Have you set amp attack time to zero?

I have found that you get pops / clicks if you set this to zero - (probably why its default setting is 1).

The filter envelope can also sometimes produce unwanted clicks if you set very fast attack / decay.

Also check that you are not clipping the outputs - (try setting the master level to -6db and see if it goes away).

Well maybe not exactly what that guy meant, but I want to say this.
Sometimes I just want to makes louder bass in the sample so I chop it up, put LP filter on it. Low pass filter will produce clicks if u set it pretty low. Mostly it is not audible when u play "complete" sample or beat.

try leaving the resonance @ zero & adjust freq more or less I add eq on 1 of the triple filter effects when I use hp then layer your sound in the {zone} field these are some of the things I do nothing is set in stone a good dose of trial & error will do you some good! Peace.

Well it just happens when i play the low pass filtered track alone or soloed. When i add the Hp track on top of it you can't hear it. But I was told it's not good for recording the pops into protools.

if you turn the resonance higher than the cut-off, you will get some distortion, on almost any filter

For some reason (on almost any sampler), LP filter will tend to cause popping and clipping on a very hot sample. Try re-sampling at a lower volume level, and I guarantee your distortion problem will be gone.
