Are there any features missing in the current 1.60 OS that should been included in the MPC when it was originally released a couple of years back?
Is AKai cooking up more goodies for us in a later update?
Anyone have any clues?

Hey,

Almost two years ago, Akai made a press reslease http://namm.harmony-central.com/WNAMM03 ... R/VZ8.html
for a VST audiounit plugin to control the mpc4000. I am glad that akai added the synth engine to the mpc line. I would like to use my mpc4000 as a programmable synth and I just wish that akai would market the synth capabilities in the future. BTW, the graphic for their app looks half assed. I guess I shouldn't b*tch, because aksys works for me right now, but I would like a VZ8 type app.

Is it me? Or am I stupid? I bought an mpc4000 - (not the only reason), because the ads said that it could stream large samples from the hard drive not ram. Now we have the ability to audition samples before we load them into ram. In akai's mind, does audition=streaming or will they implement a feature that allows you to trigger a large sample stream from the hard drive from within a sequence?

well there has been talk about the induvidual track loop lenght.. don't think akai has confirmed anything on that matter ... it be truly wicked!!

new q link features were mentioned ..

and there are alot of great ideas around but its up to akai to pull them off

I'm sure they'll add alot of stuff.. the mpc4k is their flagship MPC, its a 24/96k carma, this thing will live long into the future..

I can only say I'm really enjoying the 4k these days! like surfing on a power tide of features when it comes to workflow, the sound is Fantastik and its just so solid allaround!

little things I'd like to see:

*qlink "pad quick edit" mode (ala mpc2k: each pad has its own qlink setting

*region/slice sencetifity in region trim (ala recycle

*convert/split drum track to drum trackS (each recorded pad within a track will created a new track

*being able to jump to root samples in trim list (shift + cursor up/down)
life-safer when working whith large amounts of samples

"add sample to program" comand should play the destination pad in that program when you hit/select it so you don't accedently overwrite a pad in a program, not an itch but I think its in harmony whith the 4k luxury

ok a snobby one> "a pop up window": when selecting things like sample edit comands, qlink, filters ect, so insted of scrolling through names you'd be selecting it from a window (ala fx section of the 4k

most thouse things you can do manually in the mpc right now but we demand an autopilot becouse time is money! ...& I'm lazy

why stream it from the hd...why not just load it up?

yhea man, it be a dope feature ..

there should also be: in slice sample mode an option to "add sliced regions to an exsisting program"

and on a personal note: I'd like to see the little nurse do something other than tapping her feat, dunno maybe get the other nurse in there (I know there are two of em, I've seen hear in copy commands) ..u know get some hot noughty nurse action going on or something... it would defenatly raise the attetude level up a notch =)
