PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME WITH MY RAM PROBLEMS

:angry: i have a blue 4k that i bought second hand, when i first got it home i turned it on and it works fine, it has 80gig hd but only has the on board 16mb ram. so i upgraded the ram to 512 buying it from ebay, from this dude.. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/512MB-RAM-MEMORY- ... -Sampler... NOW my problem is that now i have installed the new working ram, my mpc still says that it still has only 16mb installed WTF is going on please some one tell me .. do i have to press some kind of buttons to tell the mpc that i have now installed more ram(surely not).. this is propa long for me as i cant load many pgm's at one time....some one please get at me ..joe

You made sure the new ram is clocked or spec'd at 2.5 cl and it's pc 100 or 133?

YEAH YEAH YEAH ... sorted it.. my mpc is now fully charged and ready for combat...thanks every one for your help you have been great, turns out that the ram i had bought was dead out. so i went out and got some of that kingston shit, and now everything is runnin nice. peeeeeaaaaaace..,, :D

Nah, you should be good with those specs. As far as brands are concerned, I try to go with any reputable brand other than "patriot" and any basic generic brand.

I've always considered them to be a dressed up version of a generic brand anyway. And from my experiences, they don't hold up as well as most others.
