Midi and the 4000

Ok so I got the midisport 4x4 anniversary edition a couple days ago and I got everything hooked up - Ok now the only thing I can't figure out when I'm playing midi on say Track-01 and then go to Track 2 to say program drums - The midi notes are played along with the drums..

I've tried messing around with channels and all that and I just can't figure out how to play the samples loaded on the mpc separately from the notes being played through midi..

Even when I have track-01 programmed for drums and then go on to track-02 an change the out to out-A ... midi notes are played with the drums in the sequence..

Any hints on fixing this?

You need to change the drum track (if you haven't already done so) to an instrument track.

If the 4k is going to be triggering midi instruments, then the corresponding track needs to be set as an "instrument track", not a drum track.
