Hi, I would like to know if the data (ATA ribbon one) cable and the power cable for the CDRW are of the same specs (voltage wise for the power one) as the ones that connect to the HDD so that I can safely connect HDD in place of CDRW?
Also, can I cut the data cable in between the CDRW and HDD and only use the first (the CDRW one) 49 pin connector with the open/cut bare end on the HDD side (with no connector)? The reason is troubleshooting the problem which I suspect is the HDD part of data cable and avoid possible short. I have trouble getting the original data cable replacement. No reply from VST nor AKAI.
