Considering a 4000 or 2500 - Coming from a 1K

i did the exact same move - from 1k to 4k
studio only, with midi connections (s900, juno 106, little phatty, vintage keys), and it was the perfect move for me.
4k is the heart of my studio.
i use an external hd, do my backups with aksys. the quality of the sampler is incredible and the flow is perfect for me.
just bought extra 8 outs

Yeah 4 midi outs is a must and I have enough money for either a MV-8800, MPC2500 (I would upgrade the ram, JJOS, etc) or a 4k, so I am going to be looking into getting a 4k for sure.

You brought up a good point the... pads! How do the pads feel on the 4k? Are they like the 1k or 2500 or do they feel more like the older MPC pads like the 60, 2000 and 3000?

I'm going to be using a Motif ES6, E-MU Vintage Keys and E-MU Proteus 2000, a MicroKorg and a MFB Synth II (clone of a Minimoog) so I can't wait to have 4 midi outs. My studio is going to revolve around the 4k, it'll be nice.

the main reason why i was sick of the 1k
with the 4k i got that great feeling i had with the 2k years ago
