Aksys and Mp3 problem

Hey I remember reading in a couple posts where you guys said aksys automatically converts mp3 to wav. This is not working for me, what is up with that? Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

I never read in the manual or heard of this feature.


Only heard of it on one post on this forum. I chalked it up to the user not knowing what he was doing.

I'd say this is rather nonsense!

If you need to convert, just use a freeware converter before sending over via AkSys.

Once your sample editor is selected, you can convert what it is you're working with.

Thanks Dab, but i event don't do all that!

Ok, what i do is:

- External hard drive where the mp3 is usb to mac
- Mpc 4000 usb to mac
- Aksys is on so that i can see mpc's HD
- Create a subfolder (name it)
- Drag the mp3 on mac's desk (rename it cuz name is often to long)
- Then take the mp3 (the one on desk) and drag it in the new subfolder in Aksys
Look at this message: "converting .mp3 to .wav" and then, it's done!

That's cool. This is just a reference for a first time setup of the program if one chooses to go the route of selecting a preferred editor.

There's other ways of performing the task to achieve whatever conversion you're after of course.
