MPC 4000 and Beat Detective

right click or control click on them in the right regions list and you will see an option called export regions as. click on that and you can pick stereo or mono and your bit rate and type. then make a destination folder for them on your desktop. pro tools will export your chops out, not in real time (real quick). now you'll have a folder of your chops on your desktop. from there hook up your 4000 to your computer via usb and just drag and drop the chops into it. bam! you're done. it's that easy.

Thanks to producer Disco D for showing me this trick & also RIP to Disco D. if you're going to be using the MPC 4000, 2500, 1000 and Pro Tools for production, i highly suggest you buy this DVD. it shows you the whole production process of Disco D making a beat, from chopping the samples in Pro Tools, to importing them into the MPC, to bangn out the sequences, to tracking the beat out to pro tools for arranging, mixing, recording vocals and mastering. step by step with excellent screen commands for pro tools and the mpc all on the screen for you to follow. I learned more from this DVD then i did in 2 yrs of audio engineering school. it's worth every penny, trust me. check it out.

Disco D was way a head of his time. He was an excellent DJ, Producer, Engineer and Businessman who ran his own Record Label and has his hands in all kinds of marketing and promotions. It's hard enough to wear one hat well, this dude wore all 4 flawlessly. That's hard to come by.

Thats what I was thinking you could do from jump...You just highlighted what the 2 steps I was looking for right there...I need to export the regions...Thanks for pointing out that information right there...much needed tip right there...Im going to try it right now...
