For pitching drums using the q-link sequence a useful tool is range in q-link set up. By lessening the available values (-100 +100 by default) you can limit the effectiveness of the q-link controllers. Offset and replace (type) can be set up independently so you can switch between different parameter value set ups.

Eg: you could limit replace value editing and set offset to a higher value range.

From the manual:

Type field
Selects one of the following ways in which the value will change when you operate the knob/slider.

• OFFSET.......................The value will be adjusted in the positive or negative direction, relative to the current setting. The current setting will correspond to the 12 o’clock position in the case of a knob, or to the center position in the case of a slider.

• REPLACE ...................The value will change according to the movement of the knob or slider, regardless of the current setting.
