2x ADAT I/O anyone?

i know but ive had gear that require you to manually change the adat output frequency and manually tell the adat weather to be clock master n so on. thats what i was asking about. like on my mixer i have to tell it to output 96 if i wanna record into my computer at 96. i also have to tell my computer to follow adat clock n so on. sorry if it sounds condescending, just making sure.

i also read on akai's website that it does 96k. does that mean you can load a 96k sample n itl dither it down for output? or does it actually playback at full 96k at the audio outs ONLY. what about spidif? any chance there?

I played around with the ADAT interface and settings to see if multiplexed 96k output was available on the 4000 a couple weeks ago. Nada. It is not possible. I also found documentation from Akai confirming that the ADAT card will not support 96k.

The 96k setting on the 4000 is used to set the internal sampling rate. The 96k samples are basically converted when transmitted through the ADAT/SPDIF. Again, you cannot get a 96k digital signal out of the 4000.

So when in 96k, mode, the MPC4k will still HAVE ADAT output? Ie it will dither down to 48k in real time?

So, does that mean it does dither to 48k while in 96k mode? Or that it simply does nothing while in 96k mode? Sorry, if im seeming picky, im just looking for a very specific piece of info from highly expierenced users, that doesnt seem to be in the manual.

Again, sorry if im seeming jerky, its honestly not my intention. im just seeking a certian degre of informational precision before i decide to spend this kind of money.

Yes, you can use the adat, spdif and analog outputs while the internal sampling rate is set to 96k. Again, the 96k setting is just the internal sampling rate. It specifies the sampling rate for incoming signals. The 4000 will convert the sample as necessary when sending a signal through adat, spdif, or analog.
