ST to Mono re-sample

hello,

i've sampled a TB303 (48Kz, 24b) base

unfortunatly in stereo

is there any way to convert/play it to mono?
(so the load on sample mem is a bit lower)

pref. by summing the two channels...

You have to record the main out as either mono left or mono right. I've not found a way to sum the stereo file together.

When it comes to load times, on a heavy project I just hit load and go and make a cuppa!

Nah, I'm not that sophisticated. Just a standard Englishman's brew for me.

In the edit menu there's an option to convert from stereo to mono.

Yeah I can do this on my 2000 classic from sample trim mode. I highly doubt you can't do it inside the 4000....

you can do it on the mpc1000 and mpc2500 as well... at least with the JJOS1 you can. i can't even remember if the akai os had that feature or not...

In the edit menu converting stereo to mono just splits the file into 2 mono samples, which would probably be fine anyway because the source is mono. There's no obvious way to internally sum the stereo file to mono that I can think of.

I think it is possible on the 4K to sum a stereo signal to mono in the box.
Please correct me if i'm wrong:


1. Add the stereo sample into a program.
2. go to [mixer] and send the pad with the sample to a mono effect (for instance A)
3. In [effect] turn the Direct Signal of A to OFF.
4. Don't add an effect but keep it on NO EFFECT.
5. There you go: The output is now a mixed mono signal.
