Exchange tips and tricks for the Akai MPC4000
By freakersneaker Mon Jan 07, 2013 1:04 am
Hey currently did the whole Asr 10 set with mpc like suggested my problem is my mpc 4000s midi input is not picking up my midi input 2 well it kinda is its picking up the sounds when playing on my mpcs pads the pads that's all.

Also quick question if I connect my Asr 10 up to my mpc 4000 when I change instruments on the Asr 10 it's changes multi midi like it should but still stays on my mpc midi as channel 1 so my question is when I change instruments on the Asr should I change the base channel because that's the only way it switches channels on my mpc 4000.

You still are not explaining the issues clearly enough.

I tried to understand what your issue is, but your post makes no sense to me...try to explain things like your MIDI connections clearly ( korg midi out to mpc midi in, ASR10 midi out to MPC midi in ). Really break it down, like...

My Setup)
Problem 1)
Problem 2)
Problem 3)

Yeah, it's as if dude is putting out a riddle for us to crack or something.

Just put it out there as to what's your objective, & how are things connected.

Then you'll get the helpful responses you're seeking.

Thank you rogue but its weird I can hear the midi only through pads but if a play a sample through the Asr 10 on keys you hear the sound but not picking up on the midi input of the mpc 4k

Lol @ Rogue

freakersneaker, list all your midi connections and clearly state which machine has the samples you are triggering. Helping us to help you is the next best thing to helping yourself.

i think a lot of dudes on here 'helped themselves' to an MPC4000, when they were burgling houses to fund their crack habit.

@ freak...check the routing on the 4k by hitting the "midi" button and seeing how the routing matrix is set.

I had a similar set-up at one time. You can assign each channel on ASR-10 to a midi channel. We still need more info on your setup. you can use ASR as sound module or as a controller
