Headphone Out - No Bass

Hello I'm experiencing issues with my headphone output. I'm getting what sounds like a very thin and bass-less version of what comes out the main outputs. Anyone else experience this?

what headphones are you using?

Sennheiser H-25's. They work fine.

Upon further inspection now I'm very confused. So just flipping through my library of drums sounds I realized that this seemingly only effects certain samples. I realized this because I loaded a program an arbitrary clap was the correct loudness and had some low end. So what would make a sample sound fine via the master outputs but like tinny crap out of the headphone output?

Interestingly this happens with samples from the sample "sample set". My Tape processed 707 samples 1 of the crashes randomly sound right when auditioning.

Ok so it seems the issue is mono samples. Stereo samples sound fine. Think it's an issue with the jack? Or is there some setting in here I'm missing.

no one else ever experienced anything like this?

try another headphone to see if it's not a defect in the cable **** things up
it sounds like two of the three wires could be shorting (but then itd still be strange that mono samples come out ok.. are they panned?)

Well the mono samples are the ones that have no low end. Stereo is fine. It is strangest thing. I've tried various headphones, no luck. I assume it isn't an issue with the samples as they come the main outs just fine.

have you tried panning mono samples, to check if L or R might work on their own?

Anton you did uncover something. My samples are getting phase cancelled through the headphones but not the main outs. When panned left or right they sound much better. This happens with multiple headphones. What causes that? Faulty jack?

no idea really, maybe someone else knows..

if you fully pan them l or r inside the mpc, do they stay fully panned in the signal from the main outs? in the signal from the headphones?

if i were to guess, answers would be yes and no

and if that's the case, i'd assume the jack is **** (or all your headphones)
are you using a 1/4 inch male trs to 1/8 inch female trs adaptor?

I'll check that later. Through the headphones panning them in PROGRAM KGmix (i think not in front of the MPC) i still get full volume through both ears.
