MPC 4000 patches

Anybody know how many patches come in the 4000? What instruments are represented? If somebody had a patch list, that would be awesome. Also, does anybody know where to get more sampled patches from anywhere on the net? I'm talking real deal 88-key, not just weird sounds and single shots. Thanks.

There are no patches boss. You got to put them in yourself. It comes with an Akai sound cd with demos still.

As was said, there are no patches on the MPC 4000, you have to load your own samples.

The MPC 4000 will take any of these formats:
S1000, S2000, S3000, S5000, S6000, MPC2000 .snd, MPC2000XL .snd, MPC3000 .snd, Emu™ EIII (*)

There might be more, but I'd have to read through the Addenum's.

You can go to any sample site on the net and find Multi Samples in these formats.
The s1000 has been out for ages. Both Free and Payed. A great resource
for free samples that work with the MPC 4000 is

It's got most of the old drum machines and analog and digital synths in S-5000/S-6000 format and loads right up. Such a good collection that it's worth adding to their paypal
donations. Akai should pay them some money an d put THOSE on the harddrives
of the MPC 4000. Or donate a MPC 4000 to them and see if they'd trade

Hi, No the MPC 4000, does NOT read MPC 1000 programs, but the
MPC 1000 CAN read the MPC 4000 Drum Programs (but not Keygroups, but you
can convert a Keygroup to Drum Program and bring it over).

Akai has confirmed to me , that they are planning on , in a future OS update, to
make the MPC 4000 read the MPC 1000 programs.

I think they would see a lot of MPC 4000 people grabbing the MPC 1000 if
they the programs and samples were exchangeable.

Never know, might see it in this upcoming update.

Thanks for the link RenegadeBliss! I was jus asking because I know the MV comes with patches and you can go to mvnation.com and buy even more patches. I could have sworn someone said in another post about loading times that there was a piano sample that the 4000 came loaded with that took 3 minutes to load. I guess I was mistaken.

hollow sun is a wicked link!!!, been downloading pretty much everything, top work!! and yhea playa someone did talk about a 250mb piano sample that came with the sample CD, well I never got the cd personaly, I bought s/h.. but as renagadebliss pointed out the 4K is compatable with the lagest sample archive in the world the Akai one ;)

This is the MPC Tutor site get multisamples from the site and also samplecraze. Akai sells sample CDs and you can just about use any samples from www.bigfishaudio.com, www.emu.com, www.sampletank.com anywhere on the web.

There is no trusty here selling his own patches do you sample. Check out the sample kits reviewed in computer/future/sound on sound magazines also.

Lol. That guy's a riot. Thanks cats for the links. And you can use Sampletank and load it directly on the 4000? I'm just asking all these questions because my computer just got fixed from having yet another virus, and bam, everything I ever created in fruity loops for the past year is gone forever. Songs, patches, samples, everything. I'm still overcoming the shock. I want to just be able to flip on one machine and do everything on it (except laying vocals) and not worry about a sorry ass computer.

I don`t mean load sampletank`s sampler or programs I mean just buy samples from there. If they have akai 1000 format at least you are good to go for the 4k.

Is someone interested in sending me those? plzzzzzz... I will be very thankfull to u Its legal I gues.. its not that I stole the MPC I just didnt get that sounddisk when I bought mine. It was used tho I do have the paper of waranty and all. So if you're not sure about this, I can send those papers to ya! Thx
If you want we can swop with a soundset that came with me S5000. This aint legal no more tho..

Sure can!!!!.....but you'll have to use Extreme Sample Converter to convert the patches to Akai SK5/K6 format. It works lovely
I've also converted all of Sonik Synth using this software.
