Exchange tips and tricks for the Akai MPC4000

Hi, does the note repeat function on MPC4000 only works with drum programs and pads or also with multisamples and midi keyboard attached to the MIDI input?

Thanks

almost all the other MPC are supposed to be able to accept channel aftertouch when using an external controller in note repeat mode. I guess it will take the channel pressure values to determine the velocity values of the successive repeated notes.

If any of the MPCs are capable of accepting POLY aftertouch messages in this same manner, I think it would have to be the 4000, but I can't say for sure.

It works fine playing from a keyboard.

Thanks, Coz! I just got the unit from repair and tested repeat function and indeed it works splendid with keyboard. The only thing is that the length of the repeated notes is half of resolution setting so I wonder, is there a workaround to double a gate time? I know that setting the duration to 200% in the main seq screen does this but only on playback of the recorded sequence and not in realtime when playing the keys.

Hi, Harmoncj, I can't test the aftertouch because my current cheap controller doesn't have it but thanks for a response anyway. Do you maybe have a solution to the note length thing I described a post above?
