Exchange tips and tricks for the Akai MPC4000

somebody got a trick to get drum sounds more gritty maybe in q link or with effects. someone with the skills let me know . when i sample off vinyl it seems to clean up the sound too much. Is there a way to fake some bit reduction or something. thanx yroc coryographer of cutz

Pushing a tube-preamp too hard will dirty up samples nicley (known as saturation in software).

Failing that, a frequency cut above 8Khz will make things sound older...

resample the sounds at sample rate 24,660, bit depth 12, quality medium, these are the sample specs for the emu sp1200, dont OD and resample everything to :D

use different needles for a dirtier sound. try a couple out and see what happens.

edit screen , and quick efx also auto normalize and the zone screen is how to quad it up
