AM I THE ONLY ONE WITH A ADAT CARD THAT EMITS A POPPING SOUN

the damn thing sneaks little popping noises when i dump so when i normalize the shit it sounds crazy. HELP!!!!!

How are you using your ADAT card and what are you recording too?
This sounds like it's jitter that you may be experiencing.
this usually haves to do with wordclock sync issues on your setup, this is just a user error and you need to find out how too clock whatever it is you are using.

We need more details so we can nail the problem on your system such as signal flow.

Example:MPC 4000 ADAT card out too Nuendo,Cubase,Pro Tools,Sonar using what to sync wordclock and what are you using too transfer the Digital Audio signal to the DAW from the MPC.

also make sure your bitrange and all is the same on both machines! If you work on MPC with 24bit, 48000hz, make sure Pro Tools is on same settings.

Make sure your sync settings are correct. If the MP is the slave then set to <ADAT IN> and set the computer to internal.

I will really like to show you exactly what to do to get rid of the pops with what you use but I need to know all hardware and software involved.

I will assume you most likely do not have a standard wordclock standalone sync master like a Big Ben.
I will assume again you are using Pro Tools so in Pro Tools you need to set your clock sync to ADAT and not Internal.
making sure that both systems are using the same Sample Rate and Bit depth.
Example:44.100 16 Bit, 48.000 24 bit.

You should never normalize Its bad for the Audio in mine and most of the professional engineers I know opinion.
This has been tested and is just not a good thing to do for your MPC 4000
sequences or audio in general unless you really know what you are doing.

"Louder is not always better" I know you make think it sounds good but that's just a hearing illution because you proably like to blast the speakers
If you want a clean punch from your MPC to Pro Tools make sure to use good converters and set the level at Middle this way you wont clip and you will leave headroom for plugins and FX.

I charge by song or hour if you want to sit in and the amount of studio time to mix.
