About saving to different units

Hey!
Just bought a 4000, and been sitting with it for about a week or so.
Still much to learn, but i know for sure that this is the bomb.

A couple of questions:
I got this 8gb CF card with it, but when i save a simple beat it takes about 10 - 15 minutes to save it? I got no working usb-stick at home, but is it faster to save on there?

Also, i can't figure out how to get the usb working with my macbook pro (Yosemite 10.10 mid 2014)
When i downloaded the drivers from akai, but do i need ak.sys to make that happen? didn't seem to work with by computer.

Should not take that long to save.
Get a USB stick & try that.

I think OS 10.7 is the last OS to work with Akai sys.
or install Windows XP using VMware or Parallels .
Remember the 4000 was released in 2002 & discontinued in 2008 thats over 7 years ago!
