Tracking MPC 4k into Ableton

So Iv seen videos of ppl tracking MPC's into Ableton using midi cables and an audio interface so that when hitting play start on the MPC you can record your individual tracks into Ableton. Does anyone know of this process for the 4k? If it can be done on the 1000, 2000, and 2000xl it has to be able to be done with the 4k no? Any help would be awesome thanks
