The MPC is awesome, just one question

Hello forum

Im having problem with the MPC and recording midi. How the hell do you keep a note sustained from the END of a bar to the BEGINNING of a bar in a loop, without it cutting it self off?

This is a common problem for me when i am recording strings as i like to have the attack of a string to hit just before the begining of a BAR. And if i hit a note just before the end of a LOOP the note just cuts off when the loop jumps to the beginning.

Is there any workaround to this problem?

If you're triggering a sample you need to make sure it is set to ONE SHOT in the ZONE screen, and also ensure that the poly setting is high enough to allow the samples to overlap.

If you're triggering a sound module you should be able to record the duration of your held notes so they don't cut off as they loop back around to the first bar, but obviously there has to be a point where you release the keys, and the MIDI info can't overlap if it's a single sustained chord.

If you go into STEP EDIT you can also adjust the 'D' parameter to extend the duration of the notes.

Used to get this all the time with the 2000 but cant remember it happening with the 4000.One solution would be to extend you sequence to more bars...

and yeahhh and play around with the release times...
