Sequences Erased

Has anyone experienced this problem...

When I go into sequence edit mode and copy and paste data from one track to another and move back to main mode some, or all, of my sequences have been erased. This has happened several times now and is extremely annoying. This has to be a bug, and quite a serious one since it can't be undone. Very serious if you've just come up with a great track just for it to be completely lost because of some sort of glitch.

Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

This seems odd...there is a glitch in seq edit mode with the "replace/merge" option ...which can be worked around...but check this out below:

Make sure in sequence edit mode that you're asking for the appropriate information in the track to be copied and pasted. The default "scope" of the information to be copied in seq edit is simply pad A01. If there is no information on that pad...you're simply copying and pasting "air". You need to scroll that window A01 to say "all"....or, if there are a select number of pads you want to copy, just tap them and they will register.

Try this and see what happens -

Thanx for the reply. However, in response when I copy data in sequence edit mode I make sure to hit the "all note" button to ensure that all sequence data in the specified range is selected. Still, when I return to the main page some of my other sequences have been erased. This also happens when moving to sequence edit mode from song mode. After playing a song and switching to sequence edit I am placed on the sequence that played last. However, when I try to copy and paste data from that sequence the sequence is switched, unintentionally, to sequence 1 and some or all other sequences are erased.

When copying an track to another sequence, it wont work, i press "do it" but it doesnt do anything,

Yo 1613, man, I neva got anythin' like that with 1.51, and I'm tellin'ya, I do a lot of copy&paste in my sequences. How many sequ's ya got runnin'? What kinda edits r u doin'?
If ya can repeat this, ya'd betta email AKAI with all the details, like step by step. I emailed 'em a few glitches in 1.45 and they all got fixed in 1.51.

Mo, when ya're doin' Copy To, check yer copy range.
If it's 001.01.000-001.01.000, da 4K won't do nothin' 'coz it's got nothin' to copy.

Ouch, this sounds like a very nasty bug. Which OS version are you guys running?

I mentioned this thread on the DPS World forum, and this is the reply from Sean (from Akai):

Regarding the "Sequences Erased", we did not receive any reports of this neither during beta testing, nor since V1.51 has been released. And this kind of feature (COPY/PASTE) is usually used and tested extensively.
So this seems to point to user error.
However, Doctor Beat (who confirmed that he has not experienced this issue) has given the correct advice: email us a step-by-step procedure to reproduce the problem, if it can be reproduced (otherwise, again, it is most likely a user error).

I just had the same or a similar problem. I saved all the data that was left. I did a full format on the hard drive. Now it works perfectly (and I have been using it a lot since). It may be the result of a very heavily fragmented hard drive.

Well, it worked perfectly for a few days, then the hard disk completely died. No data can be saved or accessed from it.

Moral of the story, have a back up drive ready so you won't have any down time and save, save, save your data frequently.
