hi,
did anybody else notice:
start with a sample (mine:24bit, 48Khz)
sample edit, re-sample
settings: 12bit, keep the Khz
afterwards in the sample list (and in the same window sample edit:re-sample)
the display says 16bit, whatever Khz
i can't get it down to 12bit (or 8bit), no matter what settings i try or what sample i start with
I can manipulate Khz allright but not bitdepth
strange...

It's not strange.

The data format in the manual says 16bit. No matter what you resample to, you may get that 12bit sound but that sound will be encapsulated in 16bit format. Same as you'd put a Nissan Sentra engine and place it in a Ferrari Italia 458.

ok got it, although the sounds doesn't change much when (the sample is) in 12 or 8bit
so putting my master clock to 24b isn't worth much either?

leaving it at 24bit will give you more headroom when recording
