I was talking to some guy at a party who had an mpc4k and he told me that it was possible to change the sequence like in the next sequence page, without being in that Next sequence Window.

Is it possible to change sequence outside the next sequence window????

Would be very convinient for me

In the Main page, while playing, you can simply use the dial on the Sequence number field. Try it, it works like in the Next Sequence page.

Ok i already knew that, but i hoped it was possible for instance to change the sequence when being in program or sample mode or whatever. Is such a thing possible?

No, their isn't as far as I know. In both Program and Sample pages, their are no
blocks for changing the next sequence. You will have to actually hit "next sequence" or "main"
page to switch the sequence.

There is a feature in the MPC 4000 that you can have remote Program Changes change
the sequence, but I have confirmed from Akai already that the remote Program Change
or Sequence feature is only available in the Main window.

This is the current spec of the MPC4000.
* Program Changes to select sequences are only received in the MAIN page.
* If the MPC4000 is stopped, the sequence change is immediate
* If the MPC4000 is playing a sequence, the Program Change selects the Next Sequence

I have made an RFE a while ago, requesting to allow this to be recieved in the Track Mute
and Next Sequence screens. I'm awaiting English version of the 1.70 OS release notes
to verify that it was put into the 1.7 release, as some other features that I had requested at the same time as the above were added. But as of 1.6 you could only get remote program change sequence requests in the Main mode.

Cheers,

Dave
