how can I rip audio from movies? i guess dvds?

just capture (sample) the audio straight up from the DVD player.

It's in MPEG-2 format.

Well I think by far the easiest way would be to connect the phono outputs from your DVD player into the LINE inputs on your MPC4ooo (NOT the Turntable inputs, as these will exhibit too much gain).

You will need to aquire some Jack to Phono converters or visa versa.
