Update to os 1.71

Salut,

I just realised yesterday that the "newest" os is 1.71.

I still have os 1.51 on my machine . Could any one tell me how to update the version? I allready downloaded the os-file but don't know how to update. I think my brother was the last to update it about 3 years ago and he's not around..

First you have to use the OS Loader (this is the PC version, there's a Mac version as well if you need it).

Unzip all pertaining files, make sure you have your MPC connected via usb, run the loader & install the OS.

^^^ This is another option you can use. Unzipped the OS first, install it on a cd and run it from the 4k's cd drive.

Damn, How do I install the usb driver ish, so that my pc recognizes the mpc.

i have downloaded the os loader, but when I start it, it says theres no sampler nor mpc connected.

I guess this has to do with those usb driver that I found on the akaipro site?

PS: Audition function is pretty cool

I need your help peeps,

the newest os is pretty cool, as I said, i love the audition function (I think that at the time I bought the machine, they already were advertising it with that awsome function, altough it wasnt possible with the os at that time...suckers)

BUT: I got a bunch of acapellas saved, and they're set to one shot. so when I'm in the load page and press "audition" on one of those samples, it plays the whole sample and I cant stop it. Usually I stop those samples by hitting the stop button a couple of times, but that doesn't work here.

Is there a way to stop those one shot samples when auditioning???

download the mpc4000 OS Loader (mac or pc) plus the usb driver and unzip.

download the mpc 4000 operating system v.1.71 and unzip.

connect your mp to pc and open OS Loader. it will ask you to choose the os you want to load, pick the 1.71 version.

almost 20 years later lol. can't I just put the os files on a usb stick and load from the loader on the 4000 ? I'm on version 1.60 going to 1.71
