whats up with recording in track mute page?

Any1 know how to record in track mute page by muting or unmuting tracks so that the realtime performance data plays in the main sequence page screen? I've tried a few times but it only seems to playback when in trackmute, as soon as i go to sequence the track just stays muted or unmuted depending on whichever was last before exiting trackmute page.
