Exchange tips and tricks for the Akai MPC4000

I've just tried to 'SAVE ENTIRE MEMORY' to a CD-R. When I try to choose the CD-RW drive (instead of the internal hard drive), there is no CDRW listed in the drive page.

I also tried to save just the program and once again no CDRW showed up in the drive page. The CDRW is a Plextor PLEXWRITER 24/10/40A so should be OK.

I've just used 'SAVE ALL TO PC' using AKsys 2.53 (is this the latest?)and saved it to my desktop and burned a CD from there which I'm just currently loading back into the MPC4000 from the CDRW as I type (everything seems fine there).

But shouldn't I be able to burn a CD-R/RW of all the contents of the memory straight from the MPC4000 itself?

In the SAVE menu press F2 (UTILITY) then turn JOG dial to MEMORY TO CD.

Thanks Adrian,
I knew it must have been somewhere. Is this documented in any addendums (I can't find any PDF's for 1.60 or 1.70 OS).

Is it me or are some of the pages in the MPC a little illogical? I would have expected the 'SAVE ENTIRE MEMORY to be in the SAVE page and not with the DELETE/FORMAT options?

Some of the WINDOW and naming stuff (when you have to turn the jog wheel) also don't always seem to follow the same pattern of button operation.

It could be that you get used to this after a while, but it just feels like some of the stuff has been 'tagged on' afterwards.
