Can anyone please tell me how to make a sound keep playing after just tapping the pad once, instead of having to hold the pad for the whole sample?

The sample type must be changed to One Shot. Load the sample into the MPC4000. Then go into Sample mode to edit the sample. In the center of the window is a field where you can change the sample types by rotating the wheel. Be sure to Save the sample after the change is made, or you will have to go through the entire procedure again the next time you use the sample.
