While browsing a kick, I pressed audition and this error message came up and i could not do anything. The screen was all black and the error message was white with some extra data numbers in some kind of code.. The MPC works agian now, after a reboot.. but jeeezzzz.. OS 1.71 is reeeaaaaally buggy  Darn.

When you auditioned that kick later on, after you rebooted again, did it work then? I mean, could it be that the format of that kick sample is corrupt somehow?

Welcome to my hell......
Umm lets try and guess the number of times I have produced a whole entire track in 1.7.1....And its has given me the screen of death...
And best yett.....
It seems to give me the screen of death right before I want to save to a cd....Only an only if I make a good song  And if the song is playing while switching from main mode to save /utility/Memory to cd///Fatal error...Wierd bugging noises...
I can almost replicate the exact procedure only when I reach close to full sample memory...
But the funny thing is when I lost all my data it had only 4 samples in the memory only like 256k each... So Im confused and hurt by the possiblity of making more music only to have it destroyed by the black screen of death.
I never really trust the HDS cause Ive gone through 4 on this mpc4k alone...
And U kno how hard and long it takes to save files off a burnt out hd...

So Im at a lost to kno what to do... Now your tellin me if I auditoin sounds now too ..
jesus what has the world come to..
Peace one
ikke wurd on the bug look out.

F*ck it, when I get my 4000 I'm strictly sticking to 1.70. I've heard so many complaints on this board about 1.71, it's a wonder why anyone still uses it.

Did you have the Hard Drive set to NO SPIN?

Anytime you play back a sequence and switch to a mode that starts the HDD that will cause the problem. It has happened to me several months ago. I was launching Ak.Sys when it happened.

well v1.71 seems to be really fukked up

what I generally do when using the 4000 is syncin' it from the start to ak.sys to allow saving datas on the PC if the 4000 gets buggy

I think I comin back to 1.70 'cos there seems to be so much trouble with 1.71

has anyone warned AkaiPro yet ?

How can we warn AkaiPro if we're not given an email address? I usually send reports, but haven't been able to do that for a while now.

I dunno, I m sure someone knows on this forum but I never tried it myself

[email protected]
or [email protected]

might work

ask Sean I m sure he knows the bug report email adress

I understand that Sean no longer works for AkaiPro. That's probably why the [email protected] address is dead now. I think that was his initiative.
