Features in upcoming V1.50 update (scheduled for December)

The OS update V1.50 for MPC4000 is scheduled for early December release.
As demonstrated at the AES Show in New York last month, the new features will include:

1. 16 Levels of Tuning
2. Drum Pad Mixer
3. Send MTC/MIDI Clock to all midi outputs
4. Delete ALL Memory function added to the global memory page
5. Trigger sampling via MIDI
6. Support for Play Start/STOP and PLAY/STOP via footswitch
and more improvements... and several bug fixes...

"Audition Samples from Disk" is not included in V1.50, but it is the top priority for the following update.

I dont give a shit.All I do is make beats on my 4000,then midi sync to protools.All tracks individualy,then flip the shit from there..Dont expect a sampler/drum machine to to be final/end all product.

The list came direct from David Whittle at AKAI on the Yahoo! forum. Then Sean posted it elsewhere. All these improvements are small, trivial things. AKAI is releasing features that had been finished or near finished a long time ago.

The number one requested feature is audition samples from the hard drive. AKAI has known this for over a year and yet it is still not included. Playing a WAV file from a hard drive does not take a genius programmer. Considering that the MPC4000 is manufactured in China whose population is over 1 billion, are we to believe there is a shortage of talented programmers in that country? Either the feature cannot be implemented and AKAI is afraid to admit it, or they are not putting any effort into getting it implemented.

OS updates for the MPC4000 are released by Akai Professional.

There has been some confusion regarding what "3rd party development" means.
There are many engineers working for Akai Professional R&D in various parts of the world (Japan, UK, USA, Europe); for administrative reasons, some are Akai Professional employees, others are independent contractors or have their own company, although they are working for Akai Professional full time, and have been for many years.
In any case, the software is released by Akai Professional.

As I mentioned before, we are aware of the lower levels of the FX Returns and we are planning to update this as well, but I cannot confirm yet whether it will be changed in V1.50 or the next OS. This is not a simple change and requires a lot of work/testing.

Currently, the actual keygroup level can be affected by various parameters, not only the Level parameter in KG MIX. For instance, in the ZONE page, each of the 4 zones has its own Level adjustment.
Also, Level can be offset in the modulation matrix. Check teh modulation window and see which sources are modulation the AMPLITUDE.

Anyway, V1.50 includes the PAD MIXER feature, which allows real-time control of individual Pad's Level, Pan and FX Send using the Q-LINK controls, and the movements can be recorded in the sequence (like the Mixer page of other MPCs).

We are still looking at a December release.
