connecting the 4000

ok im getting the 4k today and a yamaha 01v dig. mixer. the 4000 has no output options installed, i want to know the best way to connect my shyt... do i get the adat option or the analogue option, the 01v has a option for adat 8x8 can i send the out adat 8 from 01v to the pc (running cubase) and attach the mpc to the adat in on the 01v, is that possible? if i go with the anologue 8 out (mpc) will my sound be garbage by converting from d/a-a/d/a-a/d= mpc to 01v to pc . i want to stay digital is there a way for me to do this(each track sepperately) with recording atleast 4 (would prefer tracks at once... im using cubase sx

I'm not a MPC4000 expert, in fact I don't even own one but you can probably go either way. If I were you I'd get the regualr 8 output analog board though in case later on you get rid of the yamaha or upgrade to something else and it doesn't have the ADAT connection... the Yamaha has 8 analog ins anyways so you can use the regular 8 output on the 4000...

Yeah, you'll be able to run your ADAT out from the 01V to your PC (assuming you have an ADAT in on your PC), and then your ADAT out from your MPC to the 01V ADAT in.

I actually have both the Analog and Digital expansion cards on my MPC, and I don't even use my Analog card (nice to have just in case).

Like you, I'm strictly trying to keep my setup in the Digital domain (MPC4000 to Digi 002), to avoid sound degradation. But then again, if you're making Hip-Hop joints, that may be a blessing in disguise to go Analog.
