Exchange tips and tricks for the Akai MPC4000

On an MPC 4000 it's actually 700 for a Forat paint job, 800 for brushed aluminum or chrome... do you guys consider that reasonable for your baby? It's cheaper than a paint job for your car if you choose to put a custom mettalic paint on your car...

from what I know, the MPC is architectured around an Intel Xscale CPU
this CPU is usually found on portable devices such as PDAs

The Akai pro site has this info onn the new blue 4000's:

" And to make sure all this power runs smoothly, at the heart of the MPC4000 is our new custom designed LSI sampling engine which, coupled with a high performance Intel™ Strong Arm CPU provides ultra fast audio processing."

well, it might have been a Strong Arm from the beginning, I am not 100% sure

but in any case, I think the blue 4000 is the same as the "regular" one

These colours are incredible on this website.

My 1k is blue - has too many functions left out though - looking to get a 4k which I guess is gonna be blue aswell. Getting the colours customized must cost proper bucks - especially if I live the otherside of the pond!

Yeah man, people wish for too much don't they. It's still the same. Just color got people hyped, effective marketing is what it's called.

Of course, it's all about the packaging these days rather than the product!

But it is great when you've found a great tool for the studio & it just happens to look a bit sexy! :D

VERY True, like my 2kxlse2. I love it but many hate it.

Went to the Sounds-Expo today & a rep from Arbiter (Akai's UK distributors) said the blue 4k's aren't available. I can't believe that! Gonna give this 4k a try anyway coz this 1k ain't cuttin' it man!
