Hello All, I would like to know if the mpc 4000 can load APS and ALL sequences and songs from a MPC 3000 Zip disk? I would like to purchase a Mpc 4000 but, it would have to work flawless with mpc 3000 disk. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes it has no issues loading 3000 files but you best load from Zip...SCSi ZIP.. sequences load in from my ol 60 but the sounds do not. because they are in a different format and it may be the compression on the files
...I sold my 60 with roger linn 3.10 for the 4000 and couldnt be happier...on the other hand i love my motif to death and could probably survive without an mpc these days if money was tight......mmmmm.. nahh on second thought i couldnt because creating sample libraries is so easy on an MPC4000 and the sample quality is PRISTINE...the FX are plain jane but not awful //The SEquencer is better than all other MPC's but i want to see Akai venture out and do something like individual track looping like my Motif has,,That would be Great and a lil bird over at Akai had told me that was one of their future OS updates but Audition from Disk is next!!

Did u do the loads urself from an mpc3000 into the mpc4000? I only ask cause you went from mpc60 to mpc4000. The 3000 was a big jump from the 60 too.

mpc3000 cannot load/save from/to Jaz drives or zip250 drives. Only SCSI Zip 100 drives & SCSI 760mb (maximum) Hard drives

r u sure? jaz wasn't even available when 60's were built. How did he get the 3000 kits on the Jaz? If I could I would use a Jaz drive w/y 3000

I know I bought my JAZ in 99 and also upgraded to SCSI option offered by Marion systems as well as 3.10 Roger Linn OS....It works but it partitions the Jaz Drive from A-Z and it wastes alot of space because it only saves a disk as 768k like the Old Macintosh Computers......It Works though Trust me!!
