How do I chop up samples and have them spread across the pads. With the Roland MV8000 there is an auto chop button. Is there anything similar to that on the MPC

Sample menu go to trim, press region and set the number regions using the window key on region and dialing in by the number of beats or amount you wish. Adjust the Region start and end field for each and go to edit page. On edit menu Go to Slice sample and decide from there as a sequence or program for just the sounds on the pads.

Check out pages 73-76 in the Owners manual.

The first and best advice I received on this board was to push every button on the MPC using the manual page by page to get up to speed over a weekend it will help you in the long run.

Bang on!!
