AKAI MPC4000 CHROMATIC OPTION?

I cannot figure out how to get one sample to play at different pitches on 16 different pads. When i set the 16 level option it sets velocity??? I wanna have one drum sample and go down in pitch with the loop, etc. ANy help is appreciated

make sure you have made a drum program
press 16 level
then go down to assign change to tuning.
make sure you have the latest os installed.
