Yep! I'm using this mostly for funky drum breaks.I've used for instrument loops as well but the "chopping" had a lot of clicks, you know. With the drums does excellent job!

still really havent found a good use to really put it into

Dr Lecters Idea sounds hella good though although, I like 99% of the time lay out my own drums in a sequence

Iceberg-Slim: try it with a funky drum solo, for reconstructing the break! It always does excellent job!

how do you reorganize them, just random shuffle?

you know, drum solos are 8 bars or 16 bars (most of them).so,i keep only the last bar (the one with the drum fill) in the same position and i put all the others in random shuffle, till i get the best result.

If you download a midi sequence or save one to a disk, cd just load or transfer by Aksys. Be sure to check if it is a 0 or 1 type midi sequence in your load screen if you load by cd. By Aksys it is automatic. :D

P.S heard from a good source in Akai Corp that new effects for the MPC 4000 is coming out soon.

Thanks for the tips on shuffle regions and chopping samples.

2nd that,i thought it was only the levels they were improving, thats real good news.

,i like to have all my drum loops cut up,even after using shuffle on then cause i like to be able to tweak each hit on its own, loads more creative control like playin/filtering/layering/eq/comp/envs/mixing etc....

,but theres one little thing thats a bit off point about shuffle region .....,the regions u define are not carried over to the sample it generates,so u have to set them a again for cutting etc ,
