2 easy questions for any MPC geru.

1. Is their a software program(s) that will allow drag and drop sounds on pads and then save so you wiont have to do it on the MPC 4000. I just loaded about 40 programs up and want to arrange the sounds but it will take all day in the MPC.
2. I just ordered the Digital I/O card. Will it act as a 8 out if you hook your digital cord to the computer (Pro Tools Digi 002) or will it only carry one track at a time. Im trying to digitally record seperate tracks simultaniously will using anolog outputs.

Hope some of you guys can help. Just getting back into music after behing out of it for the past year. I have a lot more to learn now.

you need the digital ADAT card. Then youll need an ADAT cable to connect it to the 002. It will give you 8 mono tracks.

Software you need is Aksys. Downloadable on the Akai website. You can drag and drop wavs to the pads, but it takes a while 'cause its via USB 1.1.

Is Aky.Sys easier than manually assigning in the MPC 4000?

Yes it is! If you already have the sounds on your computer all you have to do is drag and drop the files on the desired pad in the program editor in aksys, and it automatically loads it into memory.

Appreciate the info guys. Im in the process of installing the IB-4ADT right now. Its a ****. As soon as I load windows XP on my computer I am going to install Akai.Sys. Damn you know what? I dont have a USB 1 cord. Damn. Damn. YOu would know I would have about 5 USB 2 cords but no USB 1. Why does everything have to be so complicated when it comes to pro audio.
