Exchange tips and tricks for the Akai MPC4000

Quick question about triggering Motif 7 kb sounds... I'm sure it's something with a MIDI Map of some sorts... Here we go... Bank F tiggers the Highest notes correctly in sequence from pad 16 to 1 (in decending order)... then Bank D picks up where Bank F ends octave wise (pads 16 to 1 in decending order)... from that point, I'm missing a few octaves/notes, it sounds like some of them are located between Banks A thru C (but the sharps and flat notes make no sense to me)... meanwhile Bank E plays the Lowest octaves in decending order... I can always record the MIDI notes to the MPC when I play them directly them on the Motif... Well they did at one point... but the G-13... got me... and I forgot how to make it work... Damn TREES... Any help would be greatly appreciated.

yo, that's 'coz yer Pad assign is on Default (GM drums). Ya gotta change it to chroma if ya wanna use pads like a kb fo' yer Midi tracks.

Thx... I'll try that... I toggled between the inst and the drum setting on the main page on the MPC... and there was no difference... I'll mess with the settings on the Motif... appreciate your help.

sup,
to change the 4ks pad assignment .....select a empty track or one with a keygroup assign to it and push "pad assign" then change the "gobal pad assign"
to "chromatic"
