From MPC 2000 to 4000

Had enough of bringing my floppy disks and its limited space and MPC 2000 to the studio.

Loading each disk because as u know a disk can only store so much info while the engineer twiddles his thumbs as I waste valuable studio time.

Want to buy a MPC 4000 and move into the world of USB ports, all my samples on 1 CD or on the internal hard drive and whatnot but the 4000 doesn't have floppy disk function to go along with their internal hard drive.

Don't want to lose all the beats on my disks so how do I go about converting the info/sequences/tracks, etc and putting them onto something that's compatible with a MPC 4000?

Remember, all I have is my MPC 2000 and my floppies. When it's time to record, add bass, etc. I go to a studio.

I know some of u 4000 guys started on a 2000, so 1 of u guys will hopefully have the answer.

sup,
the 4k can read .snd and .aps from 2000/xl
just get a usb floppy drive, load em into a pc/mac then into the 4k with ak.sys.....or usb floppy straight into the mpc.....then save your sample &seqs/progs to the 4ks HD.

Have no pc/mac. Just my MPC 2000.


Don't think my 2000 had usb ports in mind when it was created but will look into it.

oops misunderstanding

use the floppys u use with your 2000, with a usb floopy drive pluged into the 4k....
or pc/mac via ak.sys.........
