Whats up everybody!

About 2 weeks ago I got MPC4000! My dream came tru!

First I wanna let you know that it was a pain in the ass for me to get it becouse I am from Moldova a very poor country in Eastern Europe.2700$ is alot of money here and it is really hard to send it here from US.

The first time my mother brougth the MPC to Moldova somebody on the plane droped it and it didn't work whene i got it...So I sent it back to the AKAI dealer to fix it in USA...
It took them 2 months to fix it but I had to wait 1 year antil my mom sent it to me again in Moldova...

So now here it is infront of me turned on...And I am seating with a big smile on my face looking at it and listening to the sound quality that it makes...

I only used Reason to make music and 2 1200's and the only hardware i ever touched was a MC303... :D But ever since I read Dj Shadows biography I knew that all I nead is a MPC...I love music like Shadow Krush Wally and Portishead...Mainly I make Trip-Hop Ambient Abstract s**t and underground HipHop...I never used a MPC but I already got about 5 songs not finished yet...ITS EASY...LIKE BREATHING :D

Anyways I wanna say that this machine is ILL...First 3 days I was kinda confused but now 2 weeks later I understain most of the main functions...

This is my first post since I've read all the threads on this site I know I have alot to learn and I am very glad that such a site existes...Remember I dont speak english very well so I could make some mistakes in spelling...

The only problem I have here is SAMPLES...in this f****** country nobody has samples... nobody knows what a MPC is...I hate it...but its all good...

I have a few quastions !
What do you guys think are the best Monitors for a dicent price? ... What are the best headphones? And maybe someone could hook me up with some good samples strings drums snares bass...

ONE MORE TIME I HAVE TO SAY : MPC IS A BEAST AND I LOVE IT

THANKS

lol @ threadstarter havin a big ass mansion in Moldova.

Can you let me know if Moldova had produced any vinyl a few decades ago? Seems like every country in the world was putting out vinyl. You should definitely get your hands on some of that old music your country made and rock that ish.

If you have Reason, you have samples. Pick up a copy of Chicken Sys Translator or CDXtract or something like
that and convert your NN-XT Samples to 4k...

and then now that you have Chicken Sys Translator, you'll see that you can now translate any number of samples
to the 4k from other machines...

Another option is SampleRobot or something similiar that will automatically sample your external synths and/or VSTI's and make programs out of the samples. Then use Translator to convert them into 4k format...

Cheers,
Dave
