Copying multis makes the MPC4000 crash with a Fatal Error?

This has happened several times to me over the past week.

(I'm on OS 1.71, naturally


I have loads of stuff loaded up, about 75% of the RAM used up,
about 10 multis.

I go to MULTI mode, LIST page,
press WINDOW, and then COPY multi....

A Fatal Error occurs and the only way out is to smash the MPC4000 with a hammer, or at the very least turn off the power and turn it back on again.

WHY, Akai?? WHY WHY WHY???????????

I reported this bug to Akai on OS 1.70.... they chose not to fix it on OS 1.71

It's like they HATE US!!!

could you use aksys to make a copy of the multi to your desktop and then change the name of the multi and load it back into your mpc?

sorry for the goofy work around.
