Importance of 8 outs.

How important are the 8 outs if I am basically going to dump everything down to protools anyway will it make much of a difference in mu case any imput will be greatly appreciated thanks.

Time consuming! Without 8 outs you can only record 2 tracks at a time in to protools.......

But does that apply to midi if you are doing a dump.

Is the midi coming from a keyboard or module? If so then yes. What type of interface do you use? I have both the analog output and the Adat output. I use the Adat output to go into my Digi001 interface. The remaining analog inputs of my Digi has 5 outs from Motif and 1 input from my Proteus 1000. This way I dont need an external mixer. I can track pretty easily and quickly. The analog is for when I go to other studios that dont have an interface with Adat inputs. If you are using Pro Tools then nine times out of ten it has Adat input,and I would go with that.
